About
Not too long ago, in a neighborhood not too far, far away lived a Southern California native kid and second youngest of ten children. Ironically at the age of 10 he was just like any other neighborhood kid, until one day he witness a little known Sci-Fi movie at the Mission Valley Cinema called STAR WARS "which will be a day long remembered" he begged his poor Father to see it 10 more times, because He...was his only hope and began drawing X Wings, Tie Fighters, battle scenes and characters on any piece of paper he could get his hands on while escaping the adversities of the real world by creating his own, which drove everyone nuts. Daniel continued drawing throughout his preteens, high school and into his early twenties. Yet never took his art seriously, therefore hung it up for the next 20 years until the passing of his father in 2006.
Sept 2006: He didn't know how to ease his grieving Mother...with only two days before the services, he began drawing all over again, thus creating a memorial detailed portrait of his father to give her (she loved it) From that point forward his drawings vastly improved with the help of better tools, materials and hundreds of hours of non-stop practice, patience and failures for the next four years re-kindling his love for Art including working with Charcoal, Pastels and Cartooning along the way.
March 2010: Daniel purchased his first canvas, brushes, and acrylic paints - beginning his painting journey by experimenting with the fine detail of "POINTILLISM" in which small, distinctive dots of color are applied in patterns to form a larger image created by Sir Georges Seurat in 1886. Within a year of developing this skill, Daniel began noticing the results of his hard work — his painting style was evolving rapidly in his mission to apply the diligent style of the Old Master in today’s Pop Culture and Movie Icons.
August 2019: Illustration is a type of “Line Art” that he's always secretly admired...until now. Daniel created a few pieces just for fun...ended up with an entire array of new artwork in his Illustration Series on this website which is all done by hand (no digital or Ai) using simple lines, T Squares, French curves, and straight edges when taking a break from the intricate detail style of his other work.
Present day: My work is recognized and appreciated at every Comic Conventions, Live Art exhibitions, Galleries, Group Art shows, Charity Auctions and Live Art demonstrations in which he enjoys the most at all his events. "I take my art very seriously now, but at the same time I'm a kid at heart because the child in me survived. It’s hard to say goodbye when original work is sold…but it also motivates me to create more because it’s never too late to do what you love."
