Elvis Presley's iconic Army service from 1958-1960 as a regular soldier which earned him worldwide respect. After basic training at Fort Hood, Texas, he was stationed in Germany with the 3rd Armored Division while quietley playing his guitar. His time in the army was a pivotal point in his life, allowing him to mature and regroup. After his service, his movie roles and  legendary music performing life florished.
